Location: N.FIB | is there any difference between the 08 and 09 navionics hot maps chips,also will an 08 chip work in a 09 humminbird unit.I ask because I can get a 08 chip for 30 buck less than a 09 at the place I`m gonna buy a 788c humminbird unit.I just thought of this and I`m sure the place isn`t open today being christmas, so just wondering what you guys think.MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY... | |

| The newer the chip is, the more lakes it will have on it. Sometimes a few more of the lakes are updated in the HD format. If you look at the Navionics website, it will tell you all the lakes included on the chip, how many and which are HD and which lakes are included on the previous years chip. -Gabe
