Location: Indiana | My 620 came with a stereo and 2 speakers in the 'cockpit' area. It produces great sound for the rear half of the boat. I am thinking about adding some speakers to the front deck area so I can hear it better while casting without having to blare the sound. Has anyone done it? I would like to use the same 6.5" Sony marine speakers that are installed in the 'cockpit' area, but am unsure of:
1) if there is actually room along the gunwales because of the lay of the glass (if not, where has anyone else put them?)
2) if they are waterproof enough to be in the less protected area.
Anyone? |

| I have 6.5in Clarions in the bow of my boat. A good boat rigger can do it. There is enough room. |

Location: Contrarian Island | I have Alpine Marine 6.5's in my boat that are located where the rain drenches them and I have had zero problems ...get marine type 6.5s for the front and you will be fine....any good stereo installation place can mount them in the front as Kevin said |

| Also haven't had any problems with them exposed to the elements. |

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | If a guy wanted to rig something up to install a system of speakers in various locations so he could just hook up an ipod for music what would he need? Marine Amp, speakers, speaker cable, and an adaptor to run from the ipod to RCA inputs on the amp? Then, what? Power the amp off an accessory switch on the dash board making sure to have the right size fuse in the fuse box? |
