Here's the deal:
The Riddler posts as many clues as he wants to, usually one a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. You will be trying to figure out where he wants you to go with each question, looking eventually to be the first to locate and identify something on the OutdoorsFIRST Network. ONE guess per clue, please. That's ONE guess per person per clue. Post your guesses to this thread.
The winner gets:
A New Weagle, choose the color, from Suick Lures
A New Krusher, from Musky Armor
A New Glitter Tails Double 10 from Glittertails
A New 9" Suick From Suick Lures
A New Violent Strike Magnum from Violent Strike
A New Tackle Industries Rod
A Selection of New Tackle Industries lures
Maybe some other stuff, we'll see!
This stuff is worth over $250.00.
I expect this one to be solved sometime around the first of the year, unless someone figures the Riddler out......not likely.
First Clue...
The snow is headed our way for sure
Tomorrow through Wednesday looks to be pure
Hell on the Roads, So Soon it'll be
The time the dates here indicate it should be!

Winter is good, that may be right, it's as cold as a welldiggers behind be...just might. addict has the first one nailed pretty good, now let's see what you can do with the next if you could!
Five there are, all bunched up and nice, sharing the wonder of the winter brought ice.
The Riddler notices a lack of players and jazz; are many are just too chicken to layer the musings everyone has to win a prize package that will get larger... as we run through this journey to somewhere on the FIRST, you'd think for the lures there'd be more of a thirst!

Not even warm yet, not even cool, look to a map to use as your tool to figure out the current hint and lead you along the way to the solving of the riddle, the riddle of the day!

NOW we are cooking, now we can see further along the path of the pathway that leads- to the prize package that's offered for the one here who beats- the Riddler's dropping of little silly clue treats.
Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana is right, dead on, you see, so what did the other clues mean to me? The numbers should have led you to spell out the word, I don't think it takes too much of a nerd!
A day lives in infamy, one that is cool, now I'll try to gives clues, if you will, some tools, to find that day and what it means, as in what it stands for, so we can move on the the answer's main core!

OK, breaking character here, put the clues together; write them down without all the wrong guesses, write down the correct guesses, and the answer should leap out at you. Or not.

Three sides of me...there are five... sun sets on the lady...you have a hat, I know this to be- the absolute truth, no question to me-use your noggin thinking forward and back, use it for more than just a hat rack!
We know Mississippi (Ole Miss) is a correct guess, you see, and that the sun sets on the lady...this one's easy...where must you be-to have the sun set---on the lady? And where must I be to have things like Ole Miss (including) on three sides of me?
The Riddler is getting a little soft on you....hoo boy. Don't get used to it, the prizes here are worth almost $300 now.

YES!!!! now you can study, take a look at the clues, and see how the Riddler arrives at the news that you have the right answer, guessed the right guess, to find the way to another clue in this mess of a mess.

Remember the Riddler had numbers in a clue? Now what in the world are you supposed to do- count out the numbers, compare them to something, and you'll come up with the something the Riddler would sing!

What are states that border the Mississippi river?
I'll take Geography for 600 please...
I thought that too, but we have Indiana which isn't one of them.
Minnesota, flowing south through Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana before spilling into the Gulf of Mexico.

OK, for the lost:
We have established a rough geographical area important to the item/occurrence/whatever you are seeking. Next, I'm going to get a timeline established so you know the 'when' of it. Some of the clues are mathematical ciphers, some are based on geography, and some are historical; ALL are connected. If you want to see how this process works, use the search function for previous hunts.
Pay attention to the right guesses, please....you don't have much chance of a win if you haven't looked at where we are so far.
If you are here (a muskie angler), you already know the answer to this and could win today, you just don't KNOW you know.
Someone is going to win a very nice prize package from our many sponsors, just in time for the Holidays!

Addict nails it, Suick it is, now where would the Riddler have been going with this? The lore of the Suick, Pelican Lake 30 in 30 days record and all, and Suick's Antgo location in Langlade County was the ball you wanted to hit dead center with your mind-bat, now let's discover where the real prize is at!
NOW FOR THE SCAVENGER HUNT!! The prize is here, right under your nose, virtual it is, on OutdoorsFIRST it's close, one of the websites holds the winning thing you have been seeking from the beginning.

Lars has some of it nailed but alas, one portion of the answer we rushed right past! Orange is indeed the yellow and red indeed, now the color of the Suick is what we need. Forget the red, just the others now, let's hear the guesses of the color that's...wow!
"Slamr's contests and the Riddler's Scavenger hunts will offer pretty cool prizes this off season, including Okuma gear, Frabill, gear, Mojo and Suick Thriller lures, Musky Armor products ( We have a pretty cool selection), Tackle Industries products, and more."

Clue 4: I am a lady, Ole Miss I am, now where exactly AM I that makes a tinker's dam?

nice job pointer. You are a different breed of animal being able to follow Worralls crazy games....Man it gets confusing and frustrating! Next year....I'm jumping in at the end too! Wait til there are 7 pages worth, then start searching....

Searching using the 'search' function won't work, because back then images couldn't be embedded in a post, and I didn't use the term 'Suick' in the edit to the original thread..
Even if there are 10 pages with 'right' answers, one has to understand the clues AND the answers to look in the right places which means studying all the answers and clues is necessary. Next time it could be on another site altogether or perhaps on a website outside of OFM.
I don't know how many times I said 'one'.
And, I actually told you where it was in the Scavenger Hunt post and the last clue.
'NOW FOR THE SCAVENGER HUNT!! The prize is here, right under your nose, virtual it is, on OutdoorsFIRST it's close, one of the websites holds the winning thing you have been seeking from the beginning.'

Pointer....way to go! Glad this %*&^%&$ thing is over! These contests always finish during finals week and this year I have actually been studying more than digging through posts all over. I'm glad it's over and glad you won!
Also would like to thank the sponsors, OutdoorsFirst, and Mr. Worrall for making the contest possible.

Ah I remember doing these contests during finals week. Definitely didn't focus on the studies as much!
Big thanks to everyone on OutdoorsFirst. The sponsors, Steve for being a bit off upstairs, and all those who got the correct answers that led me to the end

How do you get back to the archives anyways?
I went into the General Discussion and flipped the "Sort Threads" tab from descending to ascending, then clicked go. Should only be one thread on there with a picture.

Let me assist, so you better understand the twisted mind of the Riddler.
The first few clues led to Wisconsin. One of 5 states in a band attached to the Great Lakes
Three sides of your target are surrounded by water
One of the wateraways has the sun set on it from your target.
that waterway had to be the Mississippi, Ole Miss, the Lady, get it?
Wisconsin is the only answer for the sun to set on Ole Miss and be surrounded on three sides by water, sorta
La is the first two letters in Langlade County. I was pointing to Suick's Antigo, WI location
North One Potato, a play off the Oreida advertisement, One ida...Oneida. That was leading to Pelican lake where the Suick set a record of 30 fish in 30 days years ago. Ore-Ida®
Manufacturer of frozen potato products
www.oreida.com/ - Cached - Similar - Note the potatoes are frozen. I talked about that. Also, potatoes are the number one crop in Langlade County, I am amazed no one dragged Norm and his beavers into this.
Put Langlade County and Antigo, and Oneida County and Pelican together, and the obvious answer if you have visited the Suick website in your search or looked up the history on this...is Suick.
Gave you the color of the bait that was hidden here
Gave you, LITERALLY, the exact location...the beginning of the place right under your nose...opening pages of MuskieFIRST.
Mike went there and found the image; and won.
The next Hunt will provide prizes for correct answers all the way through.
Thanks for breaking your mind playing!!
By the way, it takes me seconds to post new clues. I don't have anything written down, etc., I create them on the spot. How? I had a bunch of kids, and read Cat in the Hat books to them about a thousand times. Easy.

Not complaining at all. I had a good time trying to play along. I came up with other viable answers along the way and couldn't put the right answers together at the end to find the prize. congrats to Pointer and thanks to you, Steve, and to all of the sponsors for putting together a nice prize package.
