Have a kicker/transducer question. Does anyone have their kicker mounted on the same side as there transducer? Do you get bad interference from the turbulence caused by the running kicker? I want to mount a kicker on the same side but was wondering if i have to move the transducer. Don't want to move it if I don't have to.

Have them on the same side on this boat and my last boat also. The old rig was a deep V aluminum boat and the transducer was much closer to the kicker. Locator would show signs of being disturbed proportionally as the kicker speeds went up from 2 mph. On the new rig, the transducer is on the pad of a glass boat and farther away from the kicker. It still shows a trace of interference but you really have to look for it to see it. Not something objectional, like on the deep V, but interference is still present.

Had the kickers on opposite sides of these boats too. Then the aluminum boat was a bitch to get on the trailer because of the weight imbalance, but the interference was gone. The glass boat just wouldn't balance out right with the kicker on the other side where I wanted it so again it was moved to the transducer side.

It's all a matter of little compromises. Nothing ever seems to work out exactly as you had it envisioned.

I've never had any problems with inference with my transducers being on the same side as my kicker.

Same problem here.
