| Fellas,
Got back from a weekend up on the big pond! Between the severe weather events and 5"+ of rain in two days the fishing was pretty good. We fished the north end exclusively keying on the thicker weed patches that seemed to be found from 8 to 11 ft. Partner boated a 41" on white tiger phantom, and I scored a 37" on a black and gold musky killer bucktail. Water was very churned up and hard to see follows. Talked with other musky dudes at the launch and most people were at least seeing fish. Walleyes were committing suicide on the flats. Our neighbors at Agate bay resort said between 4 of them they released over 50 BIG walleyes(24"+) on sat alone with a 28.5, and a 29"!

| Just back from my first trip to the big pond.WOW! Fished the southern bays exclusively.Saw a couple smaller fish and boated a 30" on Sat.Had a 50"+ eat my bucktail at boatside only to throw the bait seconds later.Absolute heartbreak.Talked to another muskie boat at the landing and they only boated one fish but it was a 53" slob on a spinnerbait in the cabbage. The guys staying next to us in Isle went out with Steve from Predator Guide service and boated a fat 50" also on hair . What an awesome lake!

| I was on the North end on thursday. The fish were active off and on during the day.
The only fish in our boat was a pike of 10 to 12 pounds (that my partner got) (estimated weight)and was released. Partner had a follow from a low to mid 40 inch fish. I saw the back half of a fish whose tail and wrist was big, but I didn't see the whole fish. I tore the hooks out of a fish while trolling. I saw the fish on the surface right after he hit. I just saw the white belly so I don't know what it was, could have been a pike, and I can't estimate the size. In the evening I had a good fish on for about 1 1/2 minutes before I lost it. I never saw the fish. But I figure that it was a good sized muskie from the way it felt. It was taking line from a tight drag and made a couple of powerful runs before I lost it. The rod was bucking pretty good in my hands. Must not have set the hooks hard enough as I got back my lure. It didn't break the line.
We talked to a couple of guys in another boat. We saw them land a 44 inch muskie. They were close to us and had this fish on right after my partner released his pike. The guy who caught it said it was his first muskie. He was PUMPED! Later in the evening, shortly after I lost my good fish, we heard them yelling again. We were quite aways down from them. About 10 minutes after we heard them yelling they came over to talk to us and said that they a boated a 48 inch fish. The same guy. His first and second fish in the same day and both were quality fish! [:)] They got both of the fish on surface baits. I had the good fish hit a spinnerbait. We also saw another boat taking a picture of a muskie that looked around 40 inches.
Water levels were way up. The dock at the Wealthwood access was just about under water. The water color was brown. Kind of like medium strong coffee. That's why I had a hard time seeing the fish. You couldn't see your lure about a foot down in the water. Very brown color. Also the wind was blowing into the area off and on during the day so that made it harder to see into the water. Bright colors seemed best. |

| Kevin,
The wealthwood launch is about 20 minutes northeast of Indian point. You can troll anywhere from 5-20ft. on the north end. It is sandy with patches of weeds that you try to locate. Pull planer boards if trolling!
