Location: McGuire AFB, NJ | Not the first time this strange occurance have plagued me, but I was dozing off the other day and WHAM! I set the hook. haha! Had a big fish miss a bait in the 8 that day and well she still must have been on my mind.
The sad thing is...this isn't the first time this has happened. I've done it maybe two times before.
So I asked a good musky fishing friend of mine today on the boat if he as have encountered the hook set while dozing...it was a relief to know I'm not alone.
Anyone else out there setting the hook while dozing off??? |

Location: In a shack in the woods | Yup, I randomly do it with all fish. The most common for me though is sometimes as I'm dozing off I'll close my eyes and see and ice hole with a bobber going down. I've had all fish do it to me. Seems whatever fish I was after the day it happens. |

Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | I do it almost nightly the first month of the season. My wife laughs at me the next day. I told her she won't be laughing if she's too close and catches the imaginary hook set in the chops! Hopefully that'll never happen.
Amazingly the sleep set is always a miss! |

| I've done it and I am pretty sure my wife told me I talked her through the net job once. She has also said that I will randomly tell her "there's one!!!" in the middle of the night. I'm guessing it's a follow........HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA |

I know for me the unconscious sets start to happen after I start seeing big fish or losing them. They plague my mind so much that it is what I am always thinking about just as I fade off. So I guess it just follows suit, that I don't put any in the net in slumber since they didn't make it there when I was awake. |

Yes, this has happened to me a ton...typically, when we put about 14-15 hours on the water in a day it will happen. Always happens right as I'm falling asleep and I think I wake up everytime. I used to do the same after basketball tournaments.

Location: Chaska MN. | No hook sets in my sleep that I can recall however I have had trouble getting to sleep reliving a lost fish ( it was HUGE ) and I still see a fish that turned away at the boat that was a upper 50s for sure those two will haunt me until I get my hand on a similar caliber fish. |
