Just changed the plugs in my motor and was wondering if it was ok to go with an Autolite equivalent instead of the NGK that Yamaha recommends. Like I said, I already changed them, but at 1.75/ ea, I can easily justify a change if the NGK's are better for the motor. Thanks for the help.

If my Japanese motor recommended NGK (japanese plugs) I wouldnt be putting in the bargain brand stuff. Motor was probably tested/built using those NGKs, will probably run better with them, and for the amout of time you'll use them, a year maybe more you dont save much buy putting something else in.
Get them online and you should be able to find a reasonable price. A local shop wanted $12.50 a piece for mine this spring, I found them on ebay brand new for less than half that shipped.

The funny thing is that the NGK are only about 2.00/ea. Why am I so cheap? Haha. I will replace them with the recommended plugs. What you said made a lot of sense. Thanks.
