other than using my good casting rods for trolling - what are people using to troll for muskies (EVA handles, not expensive...)? Is there a GOOD lower priced trolling rod out there for muskies?
Thanks

dipsy diver rods will handle most muskie lures and are cheap. i've used the cabela's depthmaster series in the past.

Dont need anything fancy at all for trolling. Ugly Stix rods from Meijer or Walmart will do just fine. You can also get pretty cheap and VERY good combos from Gander Mountain usually - two peice Okuma rods with Okuma line counting reels for like $70 or something. Spool them up with 50 mono and some fluoro leaders and youre all good to go.

I would look into the new Black River live/troll rods. Been using them all fall and love them so far. Price is good for a real nice rod. Contact Saint1 for more info.

for the money I don't think you can beat the Shimano TDR line of rods... check them out...I use the 8' Heavy...they work well...Thorne Bros carries them

Gander guide rods are cheap and you can't beat the price, if you have a problem with one simply take it back for a new one!

Would the TDR double as a good sucker rod?

No, not stiff enough for a good hookset.
