Location: Lebanon,Mo | I know Steve Worrall has been in one of these for several years, but looking for other feedback on the 14'10",60" beam Esox model.
How the boat handles
Stability with two people casting
Speed/power with a 15hp,25hp,35hp 4-strokes
Average amount of rods that will fit in the rod box
Amount of storage under the front deck
Or anything you like about the boat or dont like.

I haven't run an Esox for a long time; been running the Deep V models for about 14 years.
The Esox is a modified tri-hull that started out as the Tuffy 154, was redesigned and named the Tuffy Roustabout, then was, for a couple years, called a Pike. It was redesigned some again in the 90's, and renamed to fit the low profile Esox series. The hull design has been the same since the late 1980's. It's very stable at rest, and fishes much bigger than 15'. Fishes three just fine; is a better two man boat. Runs in the teens with a 15, and is a rocket with a 25. The rod locker isn't designed for muskie rods, of course, because the boat is only 14'10" long. The area under the front deck is for vests and the like, and isn't dry storage. The side tanks offer an area to strap down quite a few rods out of the way. No built in tank, so the gas tank sits in the rear behind the helm position.
The boat runs well in waves up to 2' and a little. It's not a big water boat; it's designed to be a great river boat and a great Muskie platform for lakes from puddles to 3000 or so acres. Boat only weighs about 500 pounds, so it tows with a little car and runs well with a little motor.
Gander Mountain Guide fishes one, maybe he'll see this and answer too. | |

| Not to hijack, but what is the approximate cost of this model with or without a 25HP? | |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | An Esox with a Tuff-Trail trailer that includes chrome rims, spare tire, swing tongue and led lights a 25hp Mercury Fourstroke with electric start is about $11,600 water ready at retail. The rig would be considerable less with a Shoreland'r Trailer.

| Have had a Roustabout for many years and love it. Fish comfortably with both my slightly unsteady wife and wild casting brother (not at the same time). Very Stable.
The boat can be put in with less than six inches of water - so great for swallow landings. I run a 30 Marnier and it moves it very nice.
Belong to a circle of Roustabout fans and we've all put trophy muskies in the boat. I attribute Tuffy's design to some of my fishing success.
Storage - well my boat's too old for some of the high end storage options they put in newer models, so you'll have to take into consideration Steve's comments.
Either way, I wouldn't trade my boat for anything else.
