Nasty weather tomorrow morning, but the rest looks tolerable. Where are you headed to fish muskies this weekend? How'd you do?

Wow it's almost midnite here in Appleton and finally the high fall winds are hear but out out of the south! They are stiff to say the least. Anybody hitting bigwater tommaro better be careful and stay smart out there! Best of luck!

I'm missing this weekend for monster muskies in the middle of the FFFF! (Fabulous, Ficticious, Fall, Feeding Frenzy!)
But I am tentatively set to chase some Cobia, Groupers, Snook, and whatever else happens to cooperate come next Thursday. We are leaving bright and early for Florida.
The only release may be into the grease!
The weather forcast is surprisingly similar to Wisconsin's..................................... low to mid 80's for highs and low 70's for lows!

K-bob and I fished an area lake on Thursday. A couple of follows on artificials and some sucker hits but none in the boat.

Yesterday Ifishskis Jr. and I went out on the same lake and I boated my first fish of the year! A skinny 32 incher on a sucker...but heck it broke the ice. We had action on about 6 fish...all on suckers and all within an hour of moonrise. Only one in the boat though.

Feeding windows seem very very narrow....sometimes 15-30 minutes. I've never fished this late into the fall but I guess I was expecting more action overall....the fish "putting the feedbag on" kinda thing.

I'm up in the Brainerd lakes area. Forgot the tri-pod again.
Boated a 43" on sucker deep weed edge 14'. Did not move anything over the clouds of deep water bait fish.

I trolled for 2 1/2 hours today before going in to work. It rained the whole time and I didn't have any action at all. Typical fall fishing for me. Wish I had free time when the weather is decent.

Had to work Sat and Sunday morning, Took kids Trick or Treating Sat afternoon, got out on Sunday for a couple of hours before the Packer/Viking game and got a 37" and saw one other, After seeing the first quarter of the game I should have stayed on the water and caught more fish...

Got pounded on Saturday on Wingra, went through 2 batteries trying to fight the wind in my little river rat only to come up empty on the hookset 3 times. Went to Pewaukee Sunday & we lost 10 before getting a 39. That was the first catch in 10 years on that lake for me. I broke the curse! Lots & lots of boats on every spot. Moved one on a bulldawg & everything else came on suckers very thght to the weed lines. You could see the muskies tail crabbing on the strike, very cool to watch.

Hit up a central WI lake on Sunday and ended up getting this 44 which ended up being my new PB. Sunday sure was a beautiful day to be on the water.

I looked for some muskies here but didn't find any. Found a dinosaur track and some ancient indian rock paintings though. Take the good with the bad I guess....

There's a big sewer project going on around this lake. Part of the project is "de-watering"; dozens of wells have been sunk and they're pumping water out of the ground in order to dig deep trenches. The water is flowing from the temp wells into hoses and pipes that are running off to the lakeshore. I've been waiting until midnight or so and I'm walking the shore casting rapalas into the currents, picking off walleye and bass at every outflow. Nothing big, but you gotta love those 16" - 18" walleyes for eaters.

Decided to take the weekend off since I had a non-fishing friend staying with my wife and I... And Saturday night, low and behold, I broke my ankle. Looks like my season may be coming to an end early.

Not much for size but 3 fish on Saturday. Still biting on suckers and nothing chasing. I hope with the warm weather approaching this weekend we'll start to see some casting action again. With the IMTT final on Saturday it should break the 27 fish caught at the last event. All the same it's been a productive fall for fishing. Get out there and save the deer for the gun season.

Friday night I fished for a couple hours. Got a 41 in the figure 8 and a 45.5. Both on bucktails. Saturday I caught my first sucker fish of the year, a nice 42 incher. Sunday was slow, fished 5 hours and my friend raised one nice fish.

We hammered the fish again this weekend another 6 in the boat. 43, 48, 41.5, 39.5, 40.5, and 41.5. All on suckers except for one on a magnum bulldawg. We only lost one fish on suckers all weekend.

Got a couple of fat little pike using 12-14" suckers on Waubesa Sunday. Here is a pic of the bigger of the 2 at 36". Some other nervous suckers and maybe a couple of drops too.

Slow Thursday...Friday...Saturday until 2:30, my buddy Matt nailed two with sucker--a 43 and a 47.5, and back to nothing again on Sunday. Feeding windows...I'm thinking they do exist.

Fished the flowages on the Peshtigo River above Crivitz. Had a really strong sucker bite going on the 30th and 31st fishing deeper rocks, but it totally died on the 1st and 2nd. Threw artificials all over creation those four days too and had one small fish follow a glider off a sand bank. Caught 34" and 37" muskies, 30" pike, and missed 6 more fish on the suckers. Saw one before it got off after 30 seconds and it looked to be a mid to upper 40" fish. All the others seemed to be lower 30" class fish by the way they felt and the amount of rod bend as you set the hooks. Really strange how completely they shut off Sunday after the front went through. I thought fronts weren't supposed to affect the fish that much in fall?
