Just back from a few days of fishing at Lake of the Woods. Fished about 3-4 hours each of the three days, managed two muskies in that time with a bunch of large pike (up to 39" and fat). For the muskies, caught an 18 lb 42 incher on a saddle in Andrews Bay and a super-fat 24 lb 42.5 incher suspended off a tiny island in Big Narrows. Trolled Jakes, 4.5-5.5 miles per hour, and all fish were caught at the faster speeds.

Temps were as follows: 40-43 F from Shore Island to Andrews Bay area (day one), 49-50 F in Sunset Channel area (day two), and 46 F in Big Narrows area.

Not a lot of fishermen out there, in fact saw no one fishing the last day (Monday). This is probably the last time for fishing the Sunset Channel area for muskies, still shut-out there.

Still lots of fishing to do this fall... wish I had Doug Johnson in my boat (after looking at the previous post!!)

Good luck, everyone.
