| What do you think the best time of day to catch muskies is? Early morning, afternoon, or evening. I've thought maybe mid-day when the suns out warming things up a little. If the sun isn't out does it really matter?
Thanks, Jim |

Location: oswego, il | Depends on fishing pressure, moon phase and the weather. The more pressure and boating a lake gets, it seems the better the morning bite can be even in late november! But if you have the right weather and/or moon conditions the vening bite can be better. Less fishing pressure, the better the evening bite it seems. |

Sun can activate fall cold water fish, but they can often be illusive, going to either extreme shallow or extreme depth - depending on what type of lake you are fishing of course. It seems to me when the weather is nasty, the fish predictably hold certain parts of structure - Almost to the point where you can call your shot. Of course there is an exception to every rule.
This is what a miserably perfect day looks like. Taken two weeks ago, and yes that is ice on my chest.

| The best time to fish is when you can! You just never know! I located a real nice fish a couple months ago. I made special trips aftr her on prime condition days with no luck. I went out the other day (10-22) with bluebird skys and flat, calm water and bam! Here she is!
