My buddy and I were discussing when the bite is hottest this time of year. He likes the unseasonable warmups when a few days of warm weather hits and I think the best time is on the rainy/overcast cooler days with a nice breeze kickin. We went out and got a couple fat midweek southern WI muskies on Wednesday with my kinda weather happenin. any thoughts?

I like a nice steady cooldown, and a Northwest wind. And then there's always the comfort factor. 35 degrees, 25 MPH wind, and steady rain? WORST sh*t to fish in. I'll still fish, but I'll take 22 degrees and sunny over 35 and rain any day of the week.

I prefer 22 or so degrees and SNOW! Gets all the fair weather fishermen out of my way,a nd I've caught more than a couple fish in the snow!

I like the weather that the fish hit in,any kind as long as your catching fish.I would prefer above freezing so it`s more comfortable to be fishing in,and the line doesn`t freeze before it hits the reel and the hand warmers become the reel warmers to thaw out the line.

I would only add a nice 15 mph wind out of the NW. Sweet perfection.

If it is Fall and I am fishing, I don't care what the weather is. It is always a treat being on the water. My personal expereince tells me wind is important, but other than that, I've caught fish from sunny to freezing snow. You just adjust your presentation and areas targeted to match the conditions.

Oh ya. Nice fish!

Good fishing...
