These were at a friends Pawn Shop yesterday. As I looked at the pictures, this rig stood out and it makes you wonder, why did they discontinue the idea? I've come across more than one musky lake I wanted to hit but couldn't access with the blue whale I fish from. Classic boat.

Of course if they weld something like that up, you have to have some kind of support truss built into the frame of the boat, one that supports 3/4 ton + whatever engineering says it weighs when we hit those aging interstate gouges. I'm thinking on the whale, it would be around 2-2.5 ton minimum.

Maybe we could use some kind of aircraft strap support with truck springs and shock absorbers above it. I am not sure however that we could ever solve the "deadly missile" launch configuration if we ever did some kind of head on.
