Hi. When you use topwaters both tail rotating and walk the dog style is it best to do a figure eight under the water or on the surface? Thanks!!!

I'll try both at times. With prop-style like Spazms or Tallywackers or with blades like Cherry Twists or Topper Stoppers. I'll start off with on the surface and also try one underneath, definitely a few more if I have a hot follow. Vipers or Jackpots, I'll jerk them around in a funky figure 8.

Not sure what the proper protocal is. On Lake of the Woods last week, I was only doing "L's" instead of Figure 8's if I didn't see a follow.

Well, I didn't see the little 28" that was following and it jumped out of the water and nipped my TopRaider as I was pulling it out and preparing to cast again.

I dipped the lure back in and Figure 8'd and he hit.

I don't think it really matters if you have a hot fish.

I make an L at the boat on every cast no matter what I'm throwing to see if I have a late follower.

On the L or a figure 8 with topwater lures I allways run them under the surface.
