I hit a local pond for a few hours today. I went 3 for 4 on BN's quick set rig. 39.25, 38.5 and 42.
6 for 7 on the year so far with the live bait. Here is a little video I made for my youngest to watch, she is the only one in the family who cares about my fishing endeavors. I put it in the comedy category.

The last month...Indiana has been great and Saturday was even better. We boated our 4th fish at around 3pm up to 42". Then the kicker 5th came at about 6pm coming in at 49"...she ate a spanky bait fireball.

Got 5 in the boat for our match Saturday, but only one counted. We had a terrible time keeping fish hooked. We lost at least twice as many as we boated; the fish were on, we just sucked. All of our fish came casting; we trolled for a while hoping that biting fish would stay pinned up, but never got a rip, so we went back to casting and got fish action again.

Managed to hook a 37" on a small SW WI lake Saturday. Hit an 8" holoform silver Crane. Was seeing nothing on the graph at all until we drifted over a huge school of fish suspended 7' down over 20'. Second cast over top of the school it nipped the tail and found a hook. Non-musky fishing partner pulled his bait out of the water with a nice looking 'ski 2 inches behind the bait - me yelling "FIGURE 8, FIGURE 8" probably spooked the fish. Nice 3 hours on the water.
Just my 4th musky ever so I was pretty excited about the day.

Pre-fished Okauchee with Sanks for the IMT that's coming up in a couple of weeks. Didn't see much but with a tip from a local guide, Kevin Moore managed to stick a nice fat 44"r, It pay's to listen to your guides.....

Saurday my friend and I fished for a few hours in the afternoon. We raised three fish, with the biggest being a mid 40.
Sunday we fished all day. We started at 8:00 a.m and fished until dark. It was slow all morning with a couple of small follows. Then in the afternoon the fish starting going. I caught a 40.5 incher casting and then ten minnutes later I caught a 44.5 incher trolling. Right after we released the 44.5 we went to a weed flat and started casting. Right away I hooked a low 40 incher and lost him right at the boat. After that we never saw another fish. All the fish came on single bladed bucktails.

Craig Born and I though it was going to be slow but we decided to give it a try anyway since the weather had finally got the water temps to start going down. Fall is here and it's about time. We ended up having a great weekend. We went north after work Friday and left for home Sunday at noon. The stats are as follows:
Saturday
Jeff - 35.5" - white Ace tandem
36.5" - quick set/sucker
Craig - 36" - 10" Jake
46" PIG! - quick set/sucker (It looks like a bell ringer with the girth it has)
We each lost one other one which were both nice fish. Craig's was a nice mid to upper 40's fish that hit his 10" Jake at boat side. Mine was a very heavy fish that I saw only the head on when it had the sucker on the surface. Got hooks in it but they tore out (too many hook sets I think).
We had 11 other follows with only two of them under 40 inches. Nice, quality fish.
Sunday
We went back to the areas where we saw the fish on Saturday. Wind blown shore line/structure. When the window opened (moon under foot) we boated the following:
Jeff - 46.5" - quick set/sucker
43.5" Tiger - Walleye Shallow Dawg
Both instances of seeing fish and catching fish happened during the moon under foot and moon rise/prime time. I am a firm believer of the moon phase open windows.
Great high ball quick weekend. I hope the water temps stay on the usual steady drop for upcoming outings.
Thanks Craig for a good time!
Jeff

Guys, great muskies!! My partner and I fished lake Shelbyville (IMTT Fall Classic) and took third thanks to my nifty net skills and my partner's 45". Nice fish, John!

Got up to Vilas County over the weekend. Weather was horrible, got there thursday morning and it was around 35 degrees and drizzling. Thursday was good to us, got a sucker in the water and raised about 5 couldnt get emm to eat but was positive to see them. Had a crazy follow that missed twice and then finally I popped my PB a nice 40" with a big gash in her back. Looked like a prop smack but shes livin and eating so that all that matters. Didnt fish at all friday was high 30's and rained all day just to crappy. We got back out sat and saw 2 but were very lethargic. We ended up not fishing on sunday just got in the truck and drove. No Im just looking for that first mid 40's and then we'll go from there

We had a tough weekend up in the Manitowish area. The weather sucked and the fish were not moving at all. Fished weeds, rocks, both, shallow, deep, suspended..Nothing! Hard to believe it with 3 baits working and 3 suckers in the water for 2.5 days of fishing. Oh well, hopefully the November full moon is better.

Fished PC pretty much all day Monday, Shallow early, then fished suspended fish all afternoon to no avail, not even a follow. Saw tons of baitfish, and lots of big hooks on the graph? Good day to be out though!

I also fished Vilas Co, St Germain musky tourney in the wind, cold and rain. It seemed like good musky weather to me, but the action was slow. We lost one fish on Fri and had two other fish hit baits on Sat, but neither hit produced a solid hook up. The GWMT on 10 St Germain area lakes produced only 12 fish this yr.

Due to the wind I could only get out on sunday for 3 1/2 hrs and then I had to go to work. I trolled and skunked out. Water temp is down 15 degrees from the previous weekend.

After an almost 4 year college hiatus from muskie fishing I fished pewaukee Friday and Saturday, 2 fish in the boat.. both on bucktails. Should have had 3 or 4 more but 2 shook the hook on my buddy's bulldawg and another 2 that hit the sucker. All happened to the same guy, were thinking he has the old muskie jinx. We need to get the money off his back so we're thinking about fishing okauchee this weekend instead of pewaukee.. any report on okauchee or suggestions on which of the 2 lakes I should fish.
Tried posting a couple pictures but it says the file is too big
