Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | Just wondering. There's so many on the market now days I just wanted to see if there were a couple that really out did the rest? For me in a steady paced "walk the dog" type glider it would have to be a Hellhound or a Manta. In a more erratic or freestyle type glider it would have to be a Hughes River Shaker or an Amma Bama. What about you guys?

Location: Toronto, Ontario | With a short, stiff, single-strand leader, you can make a Hellhound do anything...side-to-side, up and down, fast or slow. I like Smuttly's, HR's, Phsntoms and the old wooden Magic Makers but especially considering their price and availability, the Hellhound is a great bait. Just up-size the front hook, they put a smaller hook on it now than ERC did originally.

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I don't use gliders a lot other than a few weeks early in the year and again for a few weeks in the fall. But the Phantom is definitely my go to bait in this category. It's been hard for me to justify using anything else when the fish are going on gliders. If they're going on gliders, they're going on Phantoms.

Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | One more question. Do you normally go with a "steady" type bait or a more erratic bait when you first snap on a glider? I love fishing gliders they are probably my most consistant producer year round and I'm trying to a get bit better insite on them. I normally go with a HellHound or a Manata first off and if I'm getting more follows that strikes I'll switch it up to a more erratic bait like a HR or AB. I also tend to run those baits as a first choice if I'm fishing a bit deeper than normal.

| I agree Hellhounds are great But my personal favorites are Tuff Shad glide baits,I do not think you can fish them wrong and they are the easiest lure to fish. They seem to do well when everything else fails,I use a Short 6" 100 florocarbon leader. I always use a standard retreive, then go erratic... Does it really matter ??????? good luck |

The Bobbie was making music this weekend....unfortunately the fish didn't like the music the Bobbie was playing! LOL!! |

| The hellhound is a sweet glider, actually really erratic if you work it right and the wobble that thing has is sexy. I like to use the perka when I want a slower glider, its great side to side with a nice wobble one the pause. Just make sure with all gliders to give them good long pauses. |

| I'm a big fan of all Trueglides. IMO, Joe makes the best glide baits on the market for action, durability, and putting fish in the boat. Bikini Bait termoils and beer bellies are a close second. The only other glide baits I really throw are phantoms and hellhounds and have put fish in the boat with both. |

For a good chunk of the year (summer months, specifically), I would agree with this. But there are certain times of the year where gliders can be some of the best producers.

You must have lost it.....!!!! Gliders catch about 80% of my fish from opening day on through out the year. Considering I only throw them about 40% of the time (because other baits are suppose to be better) that put's them up there as far as baits that catch. Maybe its different on other bodies of water but they deffinantly produce big here.

| During the spring and fall a glider can be tough to beat. Another one I forgot to mention is the undertaker, that thing is picky but when you get the hang of it you can't find a more versatile glider. |

| some baits just look great in the water, some baits look great in the water and put fish in the net. I'd rather have one trueglide than 2 or 3 of the others that waste my time. Catch fish or watch lures come back empty? it's really quite simple
