Where are you headed this weekend to chase muskies? I'm local here in Rhinelander, and looking forward to some rain and clouds to get the fish going!

You?

Steve, you're rubbing it in. I spent LAST weekend at the pike/round chain chasing ski's with the sun beating down all day long.

Will be in the Lac du Flambeau Chain hopefully getting gently rained on. BTW - what are clouds and rain anyway?

Next week Presque Isle. Never been there and looking forward to it. Think sucker time up there yet? Steve, was up on Pelican today and moved some nice muskies. No takers though.

We definitely need the rain but....give me another month of last weekends weather any time. Fished 4 different Iron county lakes with gorgeous colors, a slight breeze, zero boat traffic, and some active fish. Shorts and a t-shirt all day in the middle of September? Life is good!

mrmatt,
If you think water in the 70 degree range is sucker time go for it. In all seriousness checkout www.presqueisle.org for an updated report by Howie Meyer. The conditions are most certainly mid-summer.

Phestigo River flowages NW of Crivitz.  Have a club outing scheduled and am hoping for rain and wind to keep the crazies off the water so we can fish longer on Sat.  Gotta love how rain keeps those skiers off the water and martini cruisers too.  Wouldn't want to get wet, eh?

Heading up to Manitowish to fish the WMT Championship with Jon. Hopefully we can find some fish and manage to catch a few. Good luck to everyone hunting and fishing.

Not sure if I'll get out after muskies or not. It's the start of sage grouse season tomorrow and I'm going to make the trek west w/ a couple of friends and see if we can knock a few of those boomers out of the air. I may even try to get one w/ my bow.
