| My (ahem) best buddy threw a curse on me since I let his son catch one before he did and he's been at it 5 years now. This was his son's 3rd day trying. I've had a few on, but none into the net so far. Darn him![:(]

| I have found that blaming the weather conditions seem to work all season.

| This is no excuse but the truth of our first week of the season.
Day 1: visibility is less then a foot, water is a foot high and East winds.
Day 2 and 3 rained cats and dogs for 48 hours straight and more in 2 days then the average month of June. Oh ya East winds again.
Day 4: water is up over 3 feet more then day one from day 2 and 3s rains. Visibility is now less then 6 inches. who cares what the winds are doing at this point.
I actualy stayed away from the Big river for a week after that and the water was still close to 3 feet high and visibility was 1 foot in most areas by then.
I think as of yesterday the water levels are back to normal and the visibility is god everywhere and the weeds are starting to grow. We may have weedbeds to fish before August. [:p]
Oh ya I still managed to boat fish but boy did I have to do some improvisation. I fished so many areas I have never before just looking for clearer water and some weeds. |
