| Does anyone know of good fishing Resorts on Lake Minnitonka or Pelican Lake, MN.
Wanted to book a trip for next year but can't find any good resorts?

| There are places that look like resorts on Tonka...but they are all single family homes complete with yachts and trophy wives. |

Location: WI | Come visit beautiful Minnetonka and enjoy the four foot wakes of the yachts zipping 30 ft from you, the entertainment of a 45 minute boat launch w/ complete idiots, and the pleasure of having boat after boat(even the fellow fisheman) zipping through the two feet of water between you and the bouy you are fishing as opposed to the 40ft deep open water behind you. I think Minnesota offers some better fishing destinations. This is a lake you plan a trip away from. |

Location: tHe LaKe Of PrIoR, mN | I agree with what has been said I usually go north to muskie fish. Boat traffic on tonka is Amazing to say the least! I had a 310 sea ray buzz me 3 times friday within casting distance. I took one over the bow and I swear the guy was trying to swamp me cause he did it 3 times in 5 minutes. Tonka is a fun and interesting lake but if I had to choose I would pick to go up north anyday ... |

Location: MN | Tonka is a great lake to fish, love it myself. Very healthy fishery with strong distribution of age classes.
However, I HATE the other idiots driving around out there, just makes things frustrating to say the least. Lots of people in recreation boats, with lots of money, and a f*you - I do what I want mentality. My wife if almost terrified to go on the lake in our boat; we've had some close calls in the past with other boaters and the Lake Minnetonka chop.
Personally, I would have waaaaay too much fun being the Sheriff on that lake.... I could retire off all the revenue I would generate for the department from tickets, etc.
If you do decide to hit Tonka, look at scheduling your trip after Labor Day.... recreation traffic will begin to die down.

Location: tHe LaKe Of PrIoR, mN | Mak51 thats what I was hoping to hear I started fishing the lake just last week but its a funnnnn lake Got 2 small skis and a ton of bonus fish, decent pike 25-35 inch range and even a few bigger bass 17"+ so that keeps ya busy  |

Location: Twin Cities | That labor day thing is kind of a laugh...it's dependent on the weather...period. If it's a nice day, they come out in droves into October. Not to mention that enough fisherman wait until later in the year to make it very crowded by our own kind.... |

Location: Bloomington, MN | Check out Larry's Landing on Pelican Lake, WI "Home of the Muskie" for a resort on a muskie lake, if you want big bluegills without any muskie interference then scoot to Pelican Lake, MN near Orr, MN.(I think there are 4 Pelican's in MN). As for all of the yapping on the internet, Minnetonka is not the "gimmee" lake as it sounds. 3% of th muskie gang are getting 97% of the reported fish. Book Mr. Bob Turgeon if you want a big Metro fish! |

| Don't get fooled. Plenty of people who don't want you on either lake
Minnetonka gets way more pressure than pelican, but mainly because it is located in a much more populated area. Pelican has already gotten more publicity than most would like.....must be a reason the locals get so upset about you being there 
I would say you would have a good time either spot, but you would also have plenty of luck on a dozen other lakes in MN, so find what you are looking for in a resort and I am sure there is a great muskie lake that has it......unless it gets so late in the fall that they close for the season...... |

Location: Otsego, MN | I have some pretty good luck in the past scoring some late season deals at resorts. They have been cheaper than staying at hotels, many resorts will give a great deal to get you in there before the lakes freeze up. |

| Not much for lodging on Pelican, Tonka you would have to do hotels. I think there are better lakes between the two if you are taking a trip to do this. Tonka is a good choice for a morning or so but i wouldnt do a trip. Pelican can brake your back and will not be a numbers lake. |

| i also plan trips away from this like. its pretty miserable in many ways as mentioned above. the only thing missing is some days the surface is covered w/ floating weeds and you can barely make a cast. i fish it once in awhile for an only option sometimes. plus, there a handful of guys that are out there non stop, fishing the same spots over and over, they can really kill some good spots. as it gets later in the year it gets alot harder to catch fish out there cause all the muskie in the lake have been caught about 5 times each, probably twice or 3xs by the same guys that fish the lake almost everyday. |
