Location: MN | Hello,
I usually just fish Chip during my Oct trip but have an extra day. Looking for lake suggestion. I was thinking LCO or Grindstone. Suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,

Location: Smith Creek | What are your expectations? Those two have big fish but not many and the weather can really shut em down. Are you after a trophy or action? |

| Moose is a nice little lake and is close to the Chip. Good numbers of 30-36" fish. Tough to find one over 40" though.
Showgirls have been productive and be sure to finish each cast with a strong eight at the boat. Water is stained so you might not see a follow until the very last second.
Pretty scenery too.

| Just fished the Hayward area on Labor Day weekend. Had 5 follows and one fish on the Spyder chain. The fish actually was on Clear, three lakes that are easy to navigate into any of them. That was my first time to the area, find the weeds and you'll find fish.

Location: Almond, WI | Spider Chain. Big Spider, Little Spider and Clear. Weeds=fish. Even under poor fishing conditions you'll move several fish. Very rare to not get any biters. Black, brown, yellow and purple are good colors. I've never fished it later than August though, so I can't give any fall pointers on it. |

Location: Hudson, WI | Tiger Cat is a snake pit now but I had a friend put up a 5 fish day there last year. All between 28-36 and 3 were tigers. |

| What Hayward area lake would you go to this fall for a chance at the biggest fish? not action, but big fish potential? |

Location: Hudson, WI | In order, I would say: Grindstone, LCO, Round. Whitefish is a cisco lake. Could have some biggies, but I don't really know anything about it. |

| Try Ghost lake!! Nice #'s lake and an occasional pig -- my friend's 8 year old hauled in a really nice 48" a few weeks ago. Ghost Lake Lodge is great and the owners (Nate and Amy) are the best!! |

| Try Namakagon for big fish. And down the road to Lower Clam nice little sleeper. It may surprise you. |
