I had thought that I knew the chain pretty well, until a friend of mine asked me something. He asked me where some good timber was to fish. I completely froze up!

I can think of a few spots on Four Mile, maybe a spot on Little Fork near Ray Meyers... other than that I'm drawing a blank.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I have had pretty good luck finding timber on the chain, I just look for a little faster breaking or steeper shoreline that is wooded. A lot of times the timber isn't emergent, you have to look down in the water to see it. A fallen exposed tree in the water is a good clue though. Sometimes the submergent is better, maybe doesn't get hit as much??? Laurel, Medicine, Deer, Dog, etc. there is a ton of it, just takes some searching. I have found some in the narrows from lake to lake, which adds another dimension to the structure.

Yep the narrows tend to have quite a bit of timber...
