Does anyone know if you are allowed to fly with musky baits in your carry-on baggage? I'm wondering if security will give you a hard time because of the hooks. Thanks

May want to call the airline itself. Real good question, I would assume nothing that big and sharp would be allowed. Let us know

tweezers and nail clippers are NOT allowed so my guess is a Muskie bait with three large sharp treble hooks would NOT be allowed.

I'm really highly doubting you'll be able to carry on anything metal and sharp. Not post-9/11. Check them in at the baggage counter to avoid any issues.

i flew from florida to new jersey with a couple baits. A super spook jr, a spro frog, and a box of musky size treble hooks in my LUGGAGE bag not the carry on. If you try to bring a musky bait onto a carry on you will be tackled and tazered or worse.lol no problem with the putting it in your main bag though.

I put all mine in a Plano box inside my checked bag. Never had a problem that way.

I don't know about hooks on Muskie baits. I do know this. You ARE allowed to get on a plane with cigar cutters. I tried to hand mine to the TSA security at Madison's airport (I forgot to take them out of my pocket). The TSA guy said they were fine, so was my lighter. I was really surprised. The blades are small and curved, but similar in size to a utility knife blade. I even brought them (cutters and lighter) back to Madison from Oregon through TSA checks. Hooks might fly. Call the airlines just to be safe.

Not allowed in carried on baggage. But can be check. TSA agent told me when I was holding my rod caddy. he started asking questions. At that time I sent my lures to my destination and back home through the post office. You can carry on fishing reels
