Might have a few extra, what I have are pre-Smitty. The ones I do have, Len
made him self. Probably 25 years old. Trust me... his bates WORK! Might be able to trade a few for an invite in a certain PRIVATE Muskie lake.

SGL, I have a bug that I believe is a hartmann. It doesn't have the heart imprinted on the lip though I don't think it's a smitty either. Admittedly, I am not an expert on Bug I.D.. PM me if interested. I can shoot some pics and send to you.

Hey i bought a len hartman 6 and 1/2 inch bug that has a large aluminum bill with a red head and 2 black and white stripes on the body ,the black looks like a bunch of little black circles bunched togather to make the black sections.I would sell it if i could get my money back out of it.I normally collect smaller bass lures, much older than this one but i bought it because it looks very cool.Email me at tonymccormick55.com for a reply.

For those of you looking for Hartman Bugs, there is a guys just south of Land O'Lakes, WI that has an antique fishing lure business, swap board, etc. Al Soczka's resort and store (Tall Pines Resort) is north on highway 45 out of Eagle river. He has everything you could ever imagine or need in antique lures. He also has a big collection of old musky books if any of you are readers. Stop and check it out.

This is a very old thread, but in case anyone is still interested, I just learned that Harold Nelson - Little Nellie Bait Co. - is selling all of his remaining baits. He's got 5 different patterns of the large size deep diving Hartman Musky Bug with the large squared lip that he made for Hartman, some of them with the red Hartman Heart on the lip. All are in mint condition. He's also go a few of the smaller Hartman Musky Bug left. In addition, he's got a bunch of the Exploder Series bucktails in a half-dozen patterns. I think he may have some other lures as well. Contact me if you're interested in Harold's phone number.

Interesting article about Hartman's lures: http://books.google.com/books?id=r9IleT_VJtMC&pg=PA381&lpg=PA381&dq...

Chris....I apologize for the response to this 09/19 listing, as I just joined this forum. I have 25-30, maybe more original Hartman lures and 6-8 Latianos that I obtained from a dear friend of mine, Fred McClintock of Chatauqua and later on Dale Hollow fame who passed in 2017. They came directly from Hartman's tackle box when he fished for deep water muskies at Dale Hollow with Fred. Fred had a huge article published on him roughly in 1986 by the Lindner guys in "In-Fisherman that launched a guiding career. I have all of the history, credentials on this stuff if you'd like to discuss in detail off-line. One picture is attached. Dave.
