Anyone have any experience with these? They are pretty much the only abu with a thumb bar which is something I really like. Are they smooth, durability, how do they work for larger lures and some heavier pulling bucktails. I don't fish anything real bigh just regular super d's and some #10 blades from time to time. I also like to rip 8" & 10" jakes. Any info (aside from abu bashing) would be helpful, your not going to change my mind and send me to another brand I tried that and I am back.

Thank you,

Jacob

They're not a bad reel, just not going to hold up to double tens very well. One of the smoothest casting reels I ever used. I'd say give it a shot IF you can get one on clearance somewhere. I've seen the 5600EXT's for around $99, assuming there are some deals out there on the 6600EXT too. Much better reel than the C3's that are out there now, and those cost around the same.

I had a couple of the 6600 EXT's I know when they first came out they were having problems with the reel seat both of the ones I purchased had play in the reels seats while on the rods. Customer service was great sent them in and they sent me 2 new ones right away. Unfortunately the new ones had the same problem. I spoke with the rep and he was aware of the problem some had some didn't. Ended up sending those two back in for records.

Overstock.com has a steal on the 6600 ext. One thing i have found with ripping and twitching with a garcia is the hadle won't hold up. I have ripped the nuts off two garcias doing that. I am sure it hurt like heck too! here is the handle I put on my garcias no nuts required!lol
