| Hi everyone, I know I haven’t posted on the board a lot, but I wanted to get this message out. I am writing to inform everyone that the state of Kentucky is trying to improve its musky fishery by increasing the size limit to 40” and one fish per day. This would be a great improvement to a fabulous fishery. The legislature has already passed the size limit on Buckhorn Lake, one of Kentucky’s three musky lakes. It also stands a good chance at passing on Cave Run and Green River lakes in the near future. The reason for the post is to ask everyone to write how he or she feels about the increase. We have run into so opposition from some of the locals who choose to keep fish. We want to show the state that we appreciate the increase and feel it is step in the right direction. Please sign the post and give your email address is possible. All comments are welcome and will be sent to the state commissioner to show how fishermen from across the country view the change. Thank you for your time. |

| I feel that raising the size limit to 40 inches and one fish per day will not only help Kentucky tourism, but will help build a trophy fishery from top to bottom

| I would love to see a 40 inch, 1 fish a day law change. |

| great idea! Finally!! |

| That would certainly help this Wisconsin boy to continue to make the trek south in the winter when we are all iced up,spending hoards of money in the land of KY.
How's that for a State's incentive?[]

| As a frequenter of Cave Run lake and the surrounding businesses, sure, add me to the supporter's list: [email protected]. Should also help Green River and Dale Hollow's Ky. end.

| a 40 inch size limit? that's rediculous- i can't believe they're even considering it- they should go right to 45"! []
good luck- keep the good muskie news coming out of kentucky! |

| The 40 inch limit would sure make it a no brainer on booking next year's trip to Mountain Musky Lodge. The word is spreading fast that Kentucky is the place to chase muskie in March and April, while us northerners are still drilling holes in the ice. I had a blast on The Cave last year and any improvements to the fishery will do nothing but aid your tourism.

| RAISE THE LIMIT!!! I average over $200.00-$300.00 per trip to Cave Run + many spend much more than that...a size limit increase will only serve to bring even more folks to fish an already great place!

| Higher size limits and one fish per day limit can only mean good things for Kentucky. Increased tourism dollars and a better fishery. I sincerly hope Kentucky does pass this into law, It has to be a win/win situation.
Let em grow, it's the right thing to do.....Mike

| A 40" 1 fish per day limit would be great for Kentucky. They can't pass this legislation fast enough.

| 40" size limit and 1 fish/day is much needed. Remind those folks how long it takes a musky to grow to that size and how much we value the resource. I'm from Louisville, and I still make the 2 hour one-way drive to Cave Run and other fine KY lakes. Let's take care of them.

| Gregg,
I just saw your post this A.M. and can not tell how excited I am. This is exactly what needs be done, for now, and to finaly be able to overcome a bit of the damage that some of our more exhuberant MI, Chapter #45, members have done in the past when adversarily engaging Ky State officials on this issue, well lets just say that it has been a long-time coming.
And to the many detractors over the past two years who have told me repeatedly while speaking of this Issue, that it was not a possibility, citing primarily the State's put-and-take attitude toward these wonderful fish, local long held "meat fishing" ethics and the protest that would be made by "local Guides" wanting to protect a numbers fishery. Well.... "I told you so."
Several questions come to mind Gregg, foremost being the time frame that we are facing. What else can we do in the time that we have? I would like to voluteer my services in any way that may be of help and also wonder what our local MI Chapter might be doing or can do to add as much wieght behind these efforts as we can muster.
I just got your number from Grocho and will be calling you
soon. This very important legeslative action will not only help to insure the future of our musky fishery in KY, but is the next step that must be taken to place us among the top Musky waters in all of North America. Come on friends, together this is something that we can, and should, get done!!
Hats off to all involved!!

| Passing a 40" 1 fish limit will get more Musky fishermen to book trips to KY for sure.

| I agree. A 40" limit/1 fish per day is a great idea. It should be law, and will help improve this fishery.
Anything you could do to pass a law making it illegal for it to be 17 degrees in the end of March would also be a boon to your economy![;)]

| Great subject and I agree. The money we spend to go to the Cave should in fact put us in better size range of fish. Otherwise why go to the Cave in the fall, when I can stick the same fish here in Wisconsin and not drive 9hrs. We drive to Canada to catch large muskies, we dont drive to Canada to catch small fish that we can normally catch in the states.
A 40" or better size limit is needed on more KY waters.
