Is anyone else having trouble keeping the new chatterbaits (from this year) in the water ?
I have bought 2 resently and they both come straight to the surface, blow out and then ski their way back to the boat.

I have compared these 2 new ones with older ones that I have and it looks to me like the new have a slightly thicker metal lip on them.

Does anyone know if I just happened to get a couple of lemons or if Musky Innovations has done something different and now their chatterbaits are unfishable?

I have been using a new one this year, and have not had any problems. Other than occasionally the snap on the lure and the snap on my leader get tangled up. Usually on a bomb cast, and I don't stop the line from spooling out quick enough. Usually ends in a wasted cast, and it skiing back to the boat. If I stop the line before it hits the water , and leave no slack line to end up tangled, I have no problems.
They are good in the weeds. Although I have only got 1 32" on mine. I did catch a 28" walleye on a fig. 8. Wierd.

Good luck, Brad

Having the same problems you are. Thing rides right up to the surface. It's the new lip, doesn't work right. Wish they would test stuff before they put it out for sale.
