My friends and I are driving out to Petenwell the weekend of the 12th. Just wondering if anyone has fished Petenwell recently...? We've never been to this flowage before. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

out on the river end a few time in the past couple weeks, fishings slow for esox, well for me anyway- lost a 40- something near the pipes on a dcg- and landed a smallish 30's of the main river channel near the big sand bluff------- mostly eyes/smallies- nice 22" 4.5lb smallie on super shad rap- firetiger/ yellow-black is what I had action on

Fished it from 2-7:30 today. Didn't see a thing. Fished around the tenmile inlet and out on the lake by yellow bank and chester creek. Water was like pea soup with the algae. If the wind continues out of a south direction I'd head to the south end to avoid the bloom. Everybody I talked to had a slow day today for all species so I didn't feel too bad. Surface temps were 76-78 degrees.
