Hey guys, I have a topraider that rolls over when retrieved no matter what the speed. So I drilled it open and the weight was not loose, I put some epoxy on it to make shure it stays tight then sealed to hole shut with some more epoxy. It seemed to slow the rolling down but it still does it no matter what the speed. There are no weeds on the shaft where the prop turns either. The lure sits lower in the water now so I'm not able to add weight to the hook hangers either. Is the prop portion of the lure supposed to rattle? Or do I have to fix something there.
Thanks
Nate

Had the same problem - called the company, they said send it back and replaced it.

Sounds like for whatever reason there is some resistance or friction on the shaft that prevents the tail from spinning freely relative to the body. Check the shrink tube that sits on the split ring and hook to make sure that is is not rubbing on the inside of the tail segment when it turns.

The tail can be adjusted (bent forward or backward) to make it go faster or slower but this does not sound like the problem that you are having.

Make sure the prop isnt ruined, may need a little bending, compare to a working one.

Does the tail section spin freely when you spin it by hand ? try spinning it after its been out of the water a few days and is dry, then try it after it gets wet could be you have debre on the shaft running threw the tail section causing the problem when it gets wet. try spraying some 409 in there to clean it out. dried alge could do it.
