Thanks to all on this board who have offered their advice over the last couple of years. I was able to boat my very first fish breaking the 50" mark this past week pre-fishing for the Gil Hamm Chapter Challenge on Leech Lake. What a thrill! Thanks to my wife for handling the net like a pro and fellow chapter members Steve Burian and Al Jannecke for their assistance in measuring, documenting and releasing the fish. What a wonderful experience.

Congratulations Jerry, nice catch! It's always handy to have an extreme net woman on board too.

Hi Jim, How have you been? Cheryl puts the Rapala extreme net men to shame. She was more excited than I was and was freaking out, not wanting to mess up the net job.

Chief, nice fish! Congratulations, it's even better when the better half nets the fish!

What a noggin on that critter!! Congrats. for capturing the big 5-O!! I've been attempting that mark for 35+ years, and I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! If and/or when (my goal is 53"...yes I'm low balling it since Mille Lacs is 107 miles away) ever graces me with it's tail hitting the magic mark, I will then become one of the nations biggest consumers of lighted bobbers/leeches/tartar sauce!

It's never a bad thing when the fish's head is bigger than yours! Congrats.
