| Most lakes that say NO gas motors allowed, can you still just put your boat in and just use your trolling motor the whole time, to munuver around the lake?

| I would say check with the local DNR. I would think the big reason for not having a gas motor on the lake is for the gas and oil associated with it (or the noise). If you keep it on you still have all the dangerous liquids that go with it. Better to check beforehand then find out the hard way IMO. |

Location: Twin Cities Metro | I have a lake close to me that has a no gas motor rule and I talked to the park officer and as long as you only use your electric and not the gas motor you are good to go. I have never heard of a "no gas motor" lake making you take your outboard off, which would suck to do, but is is always a good idea to check with an official just to make sure. |

Location: Iowa | Most lakes like that just means you can not run the gas motor. I have seen one, however, that you can not have a gas motor or gas tank on the boat at all. Electric only. |

Location: oswego, il | No motor may mean alot of things, depends on where you are at. Some might mean electric only but you can have a gas motor on the boat. I have seen elefctric only, no gas motor on the boat and I know of no motor lakes that means oars and paddles only. Best to check. |

| I would agree with ToddM. I know of three lake in my area that would require you to take the motor off your boat.
Private lakes allowing public access = their rules.
You would think that motor out of the water would be fine but they do not want any gas motors on the boat.

Help getting into a lake
