| Glad we came up early. We arrived with a rain storm that started right when we got here and lasted all night and morning dumping over 3" of rain.
Finally got out today when the rain quit and caught several pike and raised a muskie on each spot. Then the new outboard took a crap leaving Taylor and I drifting around for a few hours until a nice guy towed us in. So much for coming up for extra fishing. Yesterday was a rainout, today the boat is tied up to the dock, and tomorrow we drive to Orr to see if they can figure out why my motor just quit working.
Turn the switch and all it does is make a quiet buzzing noise that lasts about 5 seconds and that's it. If anyone is familiar with this, please advise. The buzzing noise seems to be coming from somewhere near the rear of the motor, not near the starter.
Other group up here caught 6 last week, and the fish are not shy about showing themselves. If any swim past the cabin, I'll let you know. |

Location: Wausau | Check to see if the starter sprocket is connecting to the larger fly wheel...sorry for the non-mechanical terms, but this happened to me once and that was the problem. I needed a new spring to push the little sprocket up to the starting wheel. |

| The starter gear doesn't even move. There is no movement at all. It just makes a 5 second buzzing noise.
The battery is fine.
We checked as many fuses as we could find. The motor gets power when the switch is turned then buzzes and stops. You must reset the key to do it again. |

Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | "He said socket not sprocket!" Try using the gangly wrench. Just trying to lighten things a bit. Hey Beav I'm sure all will work out. Probably even before the bulk of the M1st crew arrive. I couldnt think of a better bunch of guys to back me up if my motor took a crap. The M1st crew is tops. Sorry I cant be there. I'm in New Mexico at the moment and wont be back until the 25th and hopefully MY boat will be waiting for me at the shop ready for the run into fall fishing. I'm sure one way or another all will be ok. I hope everyone gets there in one piece and I will live vicariously through the MF'ers on the trip.

Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Sounds like a bad relay. Usually a small, black, square shaped box. You should be able to feel it while it's buzzing. If that's it, it's a simple fix. Unplug the old one and plug in a new one. Good luck! |

| Thanks. I'm hoping for something easy. I'll find out tomorrow. There's a Merc dealer in Orr, and I'm heading there when they open in the morning. |

| Took a trip to Orr and had a new solenoid installed. Can't recommend Frank's Marine more highly. They dropped what they were doing and had me fixed and back on the road in less than an hour.
Things have changed drastically. The wind has done a 180 and the skies have cleared. Weeds are on the downswing, and all of the guys that I talked to were seeing their fish off the deep weed edge and only a very few fish seen near the rocks. Winds are picking up so I'm going out trolling for a few hours.
