If you're talking about wireless internet, it was available at Spring Bay last year. If it's cell service you're wondering about, it was spotty at best (I have Verizon). But then again, I wasn't wild about receiving phone calls while I was there anyway. Who knows, they may have put up a couple more towers since last year though. There's free long-distance at Spring Bay that I made good use of a couple times to keep in touch w/ the family.
Have fun up there!
S.

Verizon works on the east end of the lake. Middle and west end forget it.

I have Verizon and it is spotty at Spring Bay for phone service, but they do have wireless that worked well. I look forward to the trip.

Last year I was able to get a decent cell signal off the balcony of the cabin I was staying in. AT&T is the only carrier for the Iphone so that's what I use.

I had no trouble with AT&T on Jacobson point and Frazier Bay and in wakeumup narrows. I was only in the middle section to the west end though. Check out the navionics app on the iphone, pretty cool to have detailed mapping for only 5 bucks.

Sprint is awful on the west end. Might as well just turn it off, enjoy your time on the Big V and return calls when you are done.

Hey Big Fella,
If you tip toe out to the 4th plank from the end of the 3rd dock, (from the left)
and bend over(Facing the water) approx. 31.5 inches from your feet, and pray real hard ,.......You might get a signal for about 48 seconds........Good Luck...

See ya up there Sat. night.

Boy have times changed, and not for the best I believe. It used to be what is the hot bait, color, depth, weeds or rock. Not it is how is the cell phone reception? Is it just me or has the world gone mad.

We were at the lodge and on the water today and service was on and off, but never tried to make a call. Text Messages went through when we tried to send them, with US Cellular and Sprint.

Winston, US Cellular will be spotty but it will work. If you are trying to keep in contact with another boat up there text messaging will work just fine. If you want to call home you will have a good enough signal in some areas.

They built a new cell phone tower near Frazer Bay which will be operational in the near future, so for better or worse cell coverage should improve on the Lake.
