I have been kicking around making and selling my Timberwolf baits "officially" but wanted to get an idea of what specific attributes you look for in a glider or what you consider when making a purchase decision. I started some but feel free to add your own.

Thanks,
Shane

Please do Shane. I would look at a glider that has an erratic action but you can also make it walk the dog. Something very versital.

I look for how well we can make smore's over them. The schlacked ones give off a tainted smell.

just bought several this year. not knowing, but searching for more for the "walk the dog", size 7 to 8 inches, and of course, paint job/color catches my eyes.

now, I have some with more erratic action than "walk the dog". After throwing most of them, I have to say I'm looking forward to working those that "walk the dog" well.

Erratic action is the action you impart or does it mean uneven distance traveled left to right or an action like the Wabull :-( ???

Hang time between glides the longer the better and a few foil patern wouldn't hurt.

For me it has to do with how fast I can work it without it blowing out of the water. I hate fishing sssssllllloooooowwwww. Also one that will walk the dog well.

I have just recently picked up a few of these, so far I find the magic maker has by far the best action and is easiest to work.

I want gliders that act in one of two ways. First, one that glides easy and wide, walks consistently, hangs just right, and shimmys when it falls. The second type will be more eratic, with both horizontal and vertical movement, that I can work quickly, or deeper when worked slowly.

In my box, the best type 1 gliders I have are the two 8" Timberwolf baits I've been fortunate enough to track down. Don't change anything about them. If you can develop a type 2 glider that functions in it's role as well as your originals, I'll be at the head of the line to buy from you. Heck, if you start selling more of your original design, I'll be buying more. Still need 6" and 10" Timberwolves.

As you can tell, I'm a big fan of your work.

I find it ironic that so many guys voted for erratic action in this poll. If you cast a glider and reel it in, it does virtually nothing. YOU are the source of the action imparted in the lure. If the lure has a lousy action, that would fall under the heading of Operator Error. Granted some are easier to work than others, but anything termed 'erratic' is your responsibility, not that of the lure.

So a Reefhawg still looks like a good choice too.

I really like your Timberwolves, Shane. (Somehow I scored all 3 sizes. THANKS!) They're fun to throw and they move fish, including an upper 30"s that I caught on the big one. Go pro.
