| I hope you left that fish in the water while unhooking it... that net where it is makes it look like you lifted the fish out of the water with the net...
Proper care of the musky is Key in making that fish grow to be 50+
Still a great fish congrats!!!!!
Good job!

Location: North St. Paul, MN | I'm just curious if "guest" is serious? I don't know too many guys that leave their nets in the water, unattended...seems like they'd sink. Smart move hauling the net into the boat before the picture...would hate to lose that investment.
Great fish...I'm looking to top my PB (47" too) tomorrow!

| I leave my net hanging over the side and have never had it leave the side of the boat...I do have a much bigger net then he used I have the step down from the biggest musky net you can get from frabill. I have several pictures where you can see the net over the side in the background...my hoop is normally have on the boat and half off cause the hoop is so big... I have seen many others that do the same thing.
Based on the hold I was also guessing in a lack of experience catching muskies! A little advice never hurt anyone and could save a fish someday... These fish are a limited resource and I have seen many a fish caught and handled by people that don't know what they are doing... All of us were new at one point and learning the right way is easier to learn with a little advice.
Anyway good fish, go get another!

Over pompous ***hole. Don't listen to the "guest". He's probably just mad because you are actually catching muskies. Way to go Muskerboy

Location: Utah | Congrats on the PB and I'm sure a catch to remember for a very long time. By the look in the picture I'd guesstimate the girth at possibly 17-18". Nice job and good look'n fish. Now go get that next PB.

Location: midwest | Congrats on your personal best! I noticed that you have rod holder bases in the rear of the boat. I have found by keeping a small bungee in the boat that I can wrap it quickly around the handle/yoke of the net a couple times and stick both of the J-hooks on the bungee cord into the bottom of the rod holder base and the net can't go anywhere. This leaves me to work on the fish and not worry about the net handle swinging around while my boat partner gets the camera and bump board ready. I'm not trying to say you did anything wrong but this may help you and others that are not already using a bungee. |
