Finally...Fuji finally came through with the guides and reel seats so we could finish the 9 footers.
The rod is a 9 ft. rod, with no extention, a true 9 ft. blank. It is a heavy action rod, but has a fast enough tip which allows you to throw anything from big plastics to smaller bucktails or twitch baits. This is definately a great rod that can be used for many if not all of your musky lures. It handles walk the dog gliders great, is sweet for topwaters...I haven't found a lure yet that I didn't like throwing with this rod. It is a great double 10 rod, big rubber baits, like I said, just about anything!!!!
We were also able to build a great rod and sell it at a pretty low priced compared to other rods out on the market. This rod features fuji guides and a fuji reel seat and has top notch cork handles. Just an amazing rod!!!! This rod also comes with it's own 9 ft. rod sleeve as well. The butt cork section is 15 inches long, the foregrip is 4.75 inches long and the total from the end of the butt section to the top of the foregrip is 25 inches.

Did you buy one? if the price is so good, why doesn't someone say what it is? Sounds like it may be over priced for what it is. What kind of warranty?....etc.
Hey, if people are going to promote and sell here, let's hear more about it,,,,rather than....oh, send me an email....
I'm not sure why I got so upset. I know I can't afford another rod (old and mostly broke) smile.... However, I just feel the if someone has something to offer at a good price, it shouldn't be hard to disclose the price. Actually, it makes me feel the price may be a little too high for the product.
Good luck to those to look into this rod. Afterall, it does sound like a good rod.

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | Looks like the New Okuma Rods have some competition, VERY COOL looking rod, and a 1 piece 9' WOW, most 9' rods are 7' rods with a 2' ext. Guest ck out MAGABASS RODS from Japan they are some of the finest rods made today.

| That is a great price for a 9 foot one piece rod with quality components IMO. It's too bad I just purchased a rod so won't be looking til next year. I hope to see these at next years MN Muskie Expo.

I get the point that it is a 9 foot rod for a great price, but how about lure and line ratings for the blank? You made the comment that this is a good rod for big rubber. Will it handle a pounder and is the blank rated for it? |

The rods will have to be shipped back to me with an explaination of what happened to the rod, etc...slamming in truck doors, stepping on them, etc...is not covered under the warranty. As with any product of mine or Musky Armor we will take care of problems that come up on an individual basis. Myself and Musky Armor stand behind our products and will make sure the customer is always happy.
These rods are made by a factory that has been making rods for over 40 years, all kinds of rods. Salt water, freshwater, fly rods and they also produce several "Big Name" rods as well. We did not just jump into this and mass produce 500 or 1000 rods. We made a few, tested the living daylights out of them, and then still only produced a low quanity. As long as you have quality control and hands on inspection, like Musky Armor does, then there shouldn't be any issues.
As far as rating goes, the rod has been used to throw Pounders and didn't break but this in my honest opinion this is not my go to pounder rod. It is a 9 ft. Heavy action rod, that can handle pretty much everything in my boat. Lure ratings on rods really aren't very important, as we all throw lures that weight more than what a rods suggest. It can handle big rubber, big cranks, big bucktails, etc....It can handle alot of abuse, trust me. I have tested these things to the MAX. But one of the cool things about these rods is they are NOT just a big bait rod. I also use them to throw smaller gliders, double 8 bucktails like the DC8's or Shumway Flashers, jackpots, regular dawgs, etc....it truly is exactally what I was looking for...a "utility" rod in which you can throw pretty much ANYTHING in your box with.
Also, shipping will be $20.00 for a total of $150.00 per rod.

| i am not mike, but the rods appear to weigh less than the MI Super Mag Dawg rods. I like rods that do not weight a lot. they also have a faster tip which allows you to throw smaller baits and "feel" what you are doing better. the forgrips are more comfortable too, on this new 9 foot rod. Personally, i do not really like the "feel" of a Musky Innovations Rods. they are pretty stiff to the end or tip. this makes it hard to throw a suick very far, but this new Musky Armor rod has a faster tip which allows you toss a Mepps or Suick pretty far, as well as LAUNCH Mag Dawgs a far ways.
I fish all high end rods. gloomis, higher end St Croix rods, Pro Edge (Diamond Back), etc...i am paring a the Mike Hulbert , Musky Armor rod with a Calcutta TE. i would not put a TE on a rod that i did not think it complimented well. i do not put high performance reels on low performance rods. I pare my reels and rod appropriately...
Honestly, i kind of do agree with Mike that is rod really is a good all purpose or utility rod. |

If there's going to be any warranty issues with a rod it's very likely going to occur within the first year of use. There's always exceptions. But the length of warranty shouldn't be a big influence on whether you buy a rod or not, in my opinion. Many more important factors.

I own a mi 9' rod. It is alot heavier and alot stiffer. The musky armor rod has a lot softer tip and is a lot easier to cast for 10 hours a day. |

If a rod has a defect it will show up in the first month or 2, and the new 9'3" Okuma is very very tip heavy. The solid 9' rods from Musky Armor are very light and are balance. Wow Y are guys ripping on a GREAT NEW ROD ????? |

| Mike, what is the length of the handle from the back of the reel seat to the butt? It might just be an optical illusion or it might be that you are using fatter than normal cork but the butt look rather short in the picture. |

I dunno, I can spend the same money on a shimano and get a lifetime warranty. Over the counter at thorne, long time down the road. BTDT several times and consider it to be very important. Afterall, fishing with 3 dogs in the boat means I'm going to need new rods sooner...heh...something I definitely look for and use. |
