it's worth highlighting as another great example of how to quickly and smoothly bring a fish out of the water, get a photo and measurement, and release it back to be caught again in the future.

Another reason to have a BIG net when hunting BIG fish. I like how everything was prepared before the fish even came out of the net. Well done and thank you for sharing.

Great job, Thats the way to do it.............Keep it in the water as long as possible, and have everything ready to go.
Good video for people to learn on.

Very nice, great point of leave the fish in the net and get everything ready, good to give them a break from the fight/recover before yanking them out too.

Do you have a video of how long the fish was on for before that?

Everything good ,expect he forgot to wet the bumpboard, that is must. The fish handling and time out of the water was really first class.bill
i prefer to see that vs guys who like to stamp the fish slime on their t-shirt

I second that Mota! A wet bump-board is no big deal compared to someone dragging a fish across a shirt or carpet. Rain-gear is probably not so bad though? If a fish is so big that you can't hold it without dragging it across your clothing either get a water release shot instead or have two people lift the fish out of the water, measure it, and hold it for the photo. Good to have 4 support points on those huge fish instead of just 2 anyways. Great video. I like the way he let the fish go instead of gripping it's tail for a long time. (which can also remove slime) If they can stay upright on there own after the catch and unhooking, they are much better off without you holding on. If you need to hold on to them to keep them upright they probably won't make it anyways. I'd do what you can though off course.

Knowing the duo I suspect it was dipped before they placed it on the deck, you didn't see them get the camera out or set up the video either...all part of the getting ready process.

Thank you Mr. Turgeon... you know the drill. I highly recommend a spray bottle full of lake water... they like it when you mist them while they're on the board.
IMHO, the "slime stamp" is better than letting them thrash about while holding just their jaw.
