Homer "Bud" Hulet

Longtime Muskies Incorporated member has passed away after a longtime battle with illness.
The wake is at 11:00 am Thursday August 13 and the funeral follows at 1:00 pm at the Matz Funeral Home at 3440 Central Ave. Chicago, IL.
Bud was very inspirational in many peoples lives especially in the fishing community including mine. I will never forget the muskies we caught together over the years together. And good times we had. He always had maurice lenell cookies in the boat mmmm.
When I first joined Muskies Inc. he was one person who made me stay in it. He treated you like family. He could always take a ribbing and also give it back.Lots of fun.
He treated people the way people were meant to be treated nicely we need more people like that in the world.
The muskie community is losing a great ambassador and true friend we will all miss him.
If there is a hall of fame for fishermen in Illinois or elsewhere he should be in it for his years of work.I hope that you catch many more in heaven Bud.

Hi Duane, I'm sorry for your loss.
Time on the water with a great friend makes for extrordinary memories in times like these.
Was Bud part of the Quad County MI Outing on Pewaukee each spring?

I met Bud in the 90's and fished with him several times on lake of The Woods and Eagle lake one thing for sure was the 10 O'clock Cookie break with coffee was a must. We always stopped at the same places for breakfast or lunch, the waitresses called him Butter Cup. I learned a lot from Bud and so did he from me. He would put more time on the water at 70 years old then my friends in there 20's.

He will me missed God Bless

I met Bud when I first joined M.Inc. We were on a trip to Rowan Lake in 1992. He truly was the NICEST person on that outing and there are many out there who should learn from his example. Musky fishing is a TEAM sport, and I know who gets my vote for team captain. Fish on Bud!
