Location: Wausau | Fish of a lifetime for sure...but they come bigger.
I have been stalking this fish for over 12 days. First saw here July 26th as I was looking for new spots, but couldn't get her to eat. Weather looked ugly, so thought I'd go visit friends in different part of MN. I wanted to be back on Vermillion for the full moon. Saw her again the 4th, but no go. I fished the spot at least 3-4 x a day/night and camped on her for 5+ hours over the full moon phase. I fished other areas near by and saw only one boat fish the spot, so it's still a secret...not on the East end. Then today right before the storm blew over I thought I give the spot another try. Fished the boulders where she'd come from the last two times and nothing, worked around the reef up to the saddle and still no fish. I turned the boat to work back over and tossed my 10's parallel to the island and she hit right away. After some not so fun air tricks and a few runs, I had her in the net. It was a struggle since I was fishing solo. This fish is by far the heaviest I picked up and needed all my strength just to hold it for the pictures. I was shaking for hours and full of adrenaline. Wish I could make the MuskieFirst trip here in a few weeks, the fish are turning on!

ask yourself: would i work that hard for a fish?
after spotting a big girl, do you keep coming back multiple times per day or week or each time conditions change? this kind of dedication is hard work, and i think it's fair to say that many would move on.
kudos to Andy for knowing that she was still there over all that time and sticking with it until things finally came together just right!

But only 12 days?
My wife stalked me for like six months. Finally put her hooks into me when I needed a ride home from a County Stadium Packer game after over enjoying a Majkowski over the Vikings game back in the day.

Location: Wausau | Thanks for the appreciations and well wishes...Sled, as I stated early on the phone, the one I had wanting to eat this afternoon was pinned at first dark...a bit smaller at 49.5. I told Sled I thought she was 48 when I saw her earlier, the skinny fooled me.
Oh-by the way...sorry for the wrong date on the Big Fish Entry...after sleeping in my truck and eating tuna out of the bag for 20 days, it was confusing to pick the date.
Even though I caught one really big fish and two other nice ones, all in all - my trip has been a struggle. I have 7 fish in the net since July 24. That's less than one fish every other day. The water temps are anywhere from 71.9 to 68.8 and I think warmer weather is really helping getting the fish more one the move, which allows for them to be caught. Today is suppose to be close to 80 with clear skies.

FYI> I'm a school counselor which explains my additional free time.
I actually came home early b/c I missed my boys. They were in FL visiting grandparents for the first two weeks while I was in MN. Which helped extended my trip, but they have been home the past few days. I planned on coming home on Friday, but wanted to take them fishing at the cottage too.

Curious, how did you get that nice of photos fishing alone? I've done some solo-photography, but never got photos quite that nice.
Congrats on your dedication and destination...
