Thin or thick blade?

Which one do you prefer? The heavy blades by far spin the slowest but I am sure they push water farther and give a bigger pressure wave. Thin blades of the same type spin much faster and create more noise. Which one do you like and why?

If I was to fish shallow this time of year,,,, I would choose the bait that moves through the water the quickest and I'd be using a c4 cranking the handles as fast as they would turn!

todd, I like the thicker willow blades because they simply spin better and the large thick fluted blades for deeper running spinners (can't wait to test those shady tails!!) and thin ones for shallow running ones. Thicker colorado ones didn't spin as well as the thin ones.

Overall I like thinner ones, except for the willow blades, because I fish really shallow water so I need lift and a slow drop.

Todd, out of the spinners I got from you the thick blades by far have outproduced the thinner ones. Its like you said, they seem to throw off more water. I think different presentations for different days may be necesary.

I like them both. If forced to choose I would go with the thinner/lighter blades as they seem to spin faster and produce more vibration that I can feel through my rod (not sure if it makes a difference to the fish, but "feeling" the lure helps me work it better).

I also like my blades to have more resistance in the water (also helps me feel what the bait is doing). If the blade spins easily, but does not seem to "grab" water and offer some fair resistance on the retrieve, I have discovered that bending down or cupping the first half inch or so of the blade from the hole for the clevis really makes a big difference. I just bend them down with my fingers... and if needed... will use two pair of pliers. I really like to do this to smaller Colorado and Fluted blades.

Now, if someone could just tell me how to purchase some Harrasser Willowleaf blades... I'd be one happy camper. Are there any standard willowleafs available that have the same "push" and vibe of the harraser's???? If so, please enlighten me. I hate buying a Harrasser... only to cut it apart right away for the darn blade[:praise:]
