i'm getting ready to put in an order for some custom bucktails to use during the upcoming MuskieFirst outing up on Lake Vermilion.

Jim Reuter at Glittertails will make custom double-10, double-8, and double-6 tails in whatever skirt and blade combos a person can think up.

so what should i get?
what's been your best colors for the Big V?
sunny?
overcast?
night?

Mike,
Ask Spring Bay Steve, or Luke R.
I haven't used the bucktails much this year up there...... because of the low temps it's been a slower presentation , but things are going to change if it gets warmer.
I hear that the east end is producing more on Big Bucktails..... Colors ??

The only color bucktail I had luck on last year was black/nickel. We had action on dawgs, topwater, bucktails and glide baits. Aside from one upper 40s fish hooked but not landed on a neon green glide bait all of our action was on lures with a lot of black in them.
