For whatever reason I'm the guy that catches all the little fish. Haven't been able to break 40 inches, no matter how many times I've had the chance. Something always went wrong it seemend. Well, today was a little different. Went out at 5am this morning and close to 7 I had a larger fish follow up and spook off right before I went into the 8. I took 2 more casts and she came back again, and nailed the bait on the first outside turn of the figure 8. I originally thought it was about 43, but after the first jump I could tell by her head she was a little bigger. Well 3 jumps later, and 3 netting attempts since I was fishing alone I got my new PB in the boat. She was 47 inches even, and the fish that I have been searching for since I started musky fishing. I have been having a great year on the water so far, and after this morning there is no doubt about that. Just had to get that off my chest. Tomorrow's another day, and hopefully something bigger. Enjoy.

Nice Fish! Go back in 2 months and get her again! She looks like she'll fatten up real nice in the fall!

Nice fish, congrats on getting the good one you've been seeking! It's impressive all the more considering you were alone.

Isn't it amazing how "one more cast" can change everything!

Thanks for all the awesome comments guys! It was was an awesome thing looking back on the morning. I only hope it doesn't take 5 more years to get one larger than her. But I'm fine with this fish for the moment.

after the first "big fish" they seem to come a little easier. about the same experience with me. a lot of smaller fish and the bang, 46.5 incher. alittle better quality fish started gracing the frabil after that. congrats on the breakthrough.
