I added a 9.9 Yamaha tiller model kicker to my 619 this year, and I am interested in hooking up its steering to the main motor (Evinrude 200) and thus the steering wheel of the boat. Anyone install one of those motor steering rods connecting the two? Easy/difficult, tips, thoughts, advice? All welcome. I saw them on the Cabela's website.

They are pretty easy, I am sure most come from the factory. The only issue for you would be throttle control, would still be in the back, unless you put and after marker speed control on it.

Thanks, Troy, and yes, I am looking at the throttle controls, but one thing at a time, buddy...first need to steer more conveniently. I'm taking Kray with me to pick up a rod tonight...and then hopefully put it on at lake this coming weekend. If you're going to be up "in my neighborhood" this weekend give us a shout. I think I can get him a fish....

I would recommend Troll Master for your speed controls. Really a nice set up and not very expensive.

Yes they are very easy to install. One thing to look for before cutting the rod is possible places for it to bind on both motors. Check trim levels vs. steering positions. Remote throttle is very nice but you can by without it.

Ranger makes a steering connection kit which might be what you are looking for. It runs about $ 235.00 at least for the Mercury version.

I have some details I would share for attaching the kicker and the parts needed yourself, but that is for a Merc also, sorry.

I would look into a trollmaster once you are set up with your steering connection.
