This may seem like a far fetched request, but with all of the Musky baits available today and all the new ones that keep popping into the market each year.......sure would be nice to go to the manufacturers website and see a short little video clip of their baits being worked in the water. This sure would help in picking out a particular style of bait for a certain application.

Wouldn't think this would take a whole lot of work on their part and would really promote their baits and what they can do.

I realize they are very busy producing current baits and working on new baits so even if one of their pro staff members could perform this task and relay the video clip back to the company to put on their website.

There are alot of baits out there that look good in the magazines but at $15 - $50 a pop, you can't afford to try one of each.

I've seen a few baits on this site being used in a swim tank which is great......just wish there were more.

Anybody out there agree or am I reaching on this one.

We believe in it too...

Click on pool demo for each lure.

Of course that caveat is you need an underwater camera...or make your own box. Although this takes a great deal of time to shoot, edit, edit and edit. I think well worth it though.

I think as time goes on you will see this with more and more manufacturers. You have to remember, just 15 years ago most of us probably weren't even on the internet yet or just starting to get there. And to see a musky bait manufacturer with a website back then was probably a very rare thing. So I think it's just a matter of time to see just what you're hoping for when it comes to most baits on the market.

Most of my current video was done by Lures In Action. They do a good job for a good price too! Sent Todd some lures and he had video for me in a few days! Shoot me a PM if you want his email address.

I plan on loading these and my new videos on Muskies First once I get settled in my new place and things settle down. Check that area out too, lots of stuff there for you to watch.

H2O Tackle does this in depth.

All of Roger's baits are featured on his website at www.h2otackle.com.

Excellent baits that are built with quality in mind. Check out his website and see what you might like. You will fully appreciate his work once you get one of these baits in your hand and again when you are removing the hooks from a nice musky's mouth.

Good luck!

Doug

Check my latest video on what Todd of Lures In Action and some editing can do.

Chances of your bait getting nailed on film in the pool are.. well not good..lol
Not to mention, imo weeds, gravel, cribs, etc. add more character than the 50 meter mark and the sign that reads "No diving at shallow end"

Getting some great replies. Thnx for the videos and links. Sure helps when you can see what a bait will do for ya in the H2O.

This would be especially helpfull for jerkbaits, glide baits, and top water baits to see their action and special features.

Todd from Lures In Action does some of the best work out there. I am amazed at the quality of his now color underwater shots, and the time he devotes to getting the "right" angle. It's great to see a bait from the side, behind, going through weeds, etc... it's truly a "fish-eye view". He has some excellent clips of glider action as well. This underwater filming of "lures in action" will in no doubt revolutionize how manufacturers offer baits to the public. We all have a handfull of baits we would have loved to see how they act in the water before purchasing ... now we can! More manufacturers need to get on board, it will certainly help move product. Nice work Todd, keep it up!

Thanks Smeds! I will be posting some awesome fish footage after some editing. I had a full weekend of Lumberjack World Championships, so now it is time to get busy filming again. I have a boat load of baits that I will be shooting over the next few days for demo purposes, then I will be dragging some specific lures looking for fish strike footage. The best stuff is yet to come!

I'll second that.....great stuff for sure.
I had the pleasure of spending a little time on the water with Todd filming our Betty Bait and Schrambo footage.
Great attention to detail shooting different angles, depths, speeds, etc.
Todd, I'll be be back up your way from 8/1 til 8/10.....hoping we can get BIG Betty on film?
I'll give you a shout.
