| Just got back from a day trip to the Kawarthas, (ontario action waters). I'll preface this story by saying that this day makes up for all of those really lame days I have had in the past - and there are too many of those. Long story short: Our first 90ยบ day after a week of cold fronts. Today was muggy with building clouds and a front moving in. Anyways, I hooked at least 2 dozen muskies and landed 12 to 15 between 35 and 42 inches. No real big fish but I have never seen the fish so suicidal!!! I caught them steady for 7 hours and even caught 3 fish in three casts at one point. It was ridiculous. They pretty much destroyed my favourite DCG. On top of that I had at least 10 aggressive follows and misses. Just had to share.
All of these fish were caught from one weedline. I had discovered a concentration of fish in this 2 mile stretch a week and a half before.
I am heading back Friday - I'll probably get skunked:) |

| A few years back I found a concentration of fish on this same lake and I pounded muskies all summer. I was new to muskie fishing and figured that I had it all figured out - "these fish aren't that hard"! The next summer, I went to my go to pattern and you guessed it - they were gone!!!! I struggled all summer to catch fish. I deserved it though - it was humbling and I was pretty smug/cocky the summer before. I'll take yesterdays victory as it is and this time I won't expect it to continue!!! |

| I had a night like that once. The only difference was that I hooked 5 fish that were in the upper 40 inch range and LOST all of them... Nothing quite like getting on the fish like that though! I bet it was a blast! |
