Alright I've had enough of boards slipping and falling off when I'm trolling. I'm going to bite the bullet and buy some OR-18 clips. My question is how long do they last? I do not like wrapping the line around the clip, this cost me a monster last year. Do I have to wrap them to make them last a couple years? I'm running 80# Power Pro and I do alot of trolling.
Thanks, Nut

They seem to basically last forever. No, you don't need to wrap them.

Definitely don't need to wrap them. I've been running the same clips for about 3 years now pulling both musky and salmon baits (up to 10 oz weights attached) and they haven't worn down yet. If anything, you may need to eventually get new pads for them, but after 3 years, they are still going strong. That's running anywhere from mono to 80# braid. Well worth the investment because I lost a few boards on Lake Michigan prior to putting those on.
