Heard alot about these earlier this year. Saw the vids , they look pretty cool. Called Thorne Bros. a few weeks ago and was told they don't have them yet but would be on their site as soon as they did. Anyword on when these will be out/available? Does anybody have one yet from the pre-orders at the shows??

Reeds doesn't have them yet either. They are supposed to call me when they come in.

I looked at these at the MN show in Paul's booth. They looked very nice. Only thing I would add is a strip of foam pipe insulation when the handle is open so the blank does not dig into your side. Very cool rods but I have not used one yet. Looked solid. JMO

Bought the 8'6" to 9" adj heavy bucktail rod last week from Reed's. The handle broke inside by the reel seat. Made about 50 casts with it. Reed's is going to replace it but I called thorne rods and got an answering and left several messages and it's been a week and no responce. The rods have a lifetime warranty but does that do any good when they won't return your calls. Hope my new rod works out.

Just to clarify, these are not 'Thorne Bros' rods. They are "Thorne" rods designed by Paul Thorne (one of the originators of our Thorne Bros Store but he sold the company around 15 years ago) and made and distributed by Nature Vision/Aqua-Vu. There has been a lot of 'drama' involved with getting these rods going and we will not be bringing them in right now with the season winding down. The rods just came out too late in the season to bring them in. The rods do have a warranty, but I would double check with who you bought the rod from as it may have changed. We will be looking into them again for the sportshow season.

Received my replacement Thorne rod today from Reeds and it was the wrong rod. I had the heavy bucktail rod that adj from 8'6" to 9'4". As stated in my earlier post the adj handle broke off inside the reel seat. Reed's sent me a med heavy bucktail rod.

After talking with several people today I found out that Thorne rod company was sold-hear say. So I took the rod that Reeds sent me and drove 2 1/2 hrs to Walker and returned. I didn't want to take a chance with the handle breaking again and not getting it replaced( even if I could get the rod). The messages I left with the rod company several weeks ago still have not been returned.

I wished things would have worked out with the rod because the little time I used the rod I really liked the action.
