Anybody have any problems of these units leaking water?
If so what was your experience with getting them replaced??

I fished a couple of days in the rain and now my HDS10 is leaking water and not working properly ...

It has been an issue for the HDS's. Lowrance will replace the unit.

I called them and after spending around 45 minutes on hold they did say they would replace it no questions asked ...
Just a downer after spending that type of coin for a "top of the line" unit.

Thank you for your reply and information Schuler.

Any other issues with these units? Now that people have had more time to run them... are you happy?

Need to pull the trigger on a new unit soon and looking for some comfort in buying the HDS7.

I bought an HDS10 back in May. It spent a couple of long days in heavy rains and it developed a leak due to a seal problem.
I sent it back and received a brand new one from Lowrance in 5 business days no questions asked. The new unit is working great, but I have only had it out once since I got it back from Lowrance and it sis not rain.

Over all my experience has been an inconvenience but good and I would recommend pulling the trigger. These are pretty sweet finders.

I have two HDS7's and they are my first Lowrance products. Once they got the updates for the map chips things have been great. Customer service takes forever to get ahold of but when they pick-up they are on top of things. I haven't had mine in a multi day rain yet but no leaks. One is also protected some by the full wind shield on my boat and I haven't had any trouble with GPS reception.

Also when it shut off on me with a lakemaster lotw's chip in it the screen appeard overlapped with another map when i turned the unit back on could this be from water in the head

Any issues with seeing your trails against the "busy" background maps? I'm most interested in the GPS peformance than the sonar.

Still deliberating between bargain shopping for some discontinued LCX models vs. the new HDS stuff.

From my limited experience with the new units so far, I haven't noticed or had any problems with a busy background. If anything, the added detail has enhanced the gps part of the unit.

No problem seeing my trails and i would agree the mapping upgrades are awsome i run it in full map about 90% of the time but when faced with rough conditions and your unit shuts off puts a lump in my throught. Would lowrance replace a unit that unless you are out in rough water it appears to work just fine.

On the map, you can take it out of shaded relief and into 2D mode. This will "clean up" the maps and you can see trails better. This also is what happens in Navionics mode.

If your unit has bad connections inside on the board to the screen , maybe they will replace it. I would call Lowrance and ask. Never hurts to ask.

I have the HDS 7. I was worried when I bought it because of some issues people have had. Bought mine at Thorne Bros and they had all the updates loaded and I've had no problems yet.
