Any particular lock popular with folks on here? A neighbor of a buddy had his outboard stolen the other night and it reminded me I was going to get a prop lock.

Also, I'm assuming these locks are able to remain on while using the motor correct?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this is the right one for your particular outboard, but Overton's has a few. They also have free shipping.

Thanks Zach, that's the one I was looking at yesterday. FYI, you can find them on Ebay for about half that price.

Whynot,

I've been using the Mcgard Prop lock since I installed a SS prop several years ago.
A well made product that works. I would recommend buying a (1/2" drive) torque wrench and a separate deep-socket to go with it. I keep both in the boat in case of prop damage.
You will need to know how much torque (ft. lbs.) to tighten the nut. (see your outboard motor manual)

Another benefit is, you get rid of the prop-nut Cotter key!
