| I was talking to a musky fishermen and he was telling me how Leech Lake "use" to be a good musky fishery but is now nothing. I didn't really like hearing that, because we go up there for a week every year to hunt down the ski's. So, what do you guys think, is Leech Lake still a Good Musky fishery, or not? Thanks!! |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Sure it is. There's just lots of other destinations in MN now. Ask Murph, he'll go into detail. |

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Leech Lake has changed a lot over the past 10 years. If someone is fishing like they did 10 years ago they aren't going to have the same success. The good fishermen out there have adjusted to the changes that have taken place and are still catching fish. Reminds me of walleye fishermen that blame muskies for poor fishing. Trying different things can yield excellent results, no matter the lake.

Location: Ames, Iowa | No big fish in Leech anymore. Lake's too big to fish anyway. Go to Wisconsin where the lakes are smaller and the fish are bigger. |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | MAC is or was having one in AUG, nothing on the web site as of yet ???
Leech Lake needs to warm up before it turns on, if it is a cool summer it is a dead sea for Big fish. Staying at Trapper's landing lodge, on the south side of the main lake for 14 days in Aug will let you know if the Lake warms and the big boys bite. Leech has spots that are 140-150 ft deep so it takes alot of sun to warm her.
